FAQ

What files do I get for the final cover?

You’ll receive the ebook cover as a JPG file and the print cover as a PDF. 3D mockup with a transparent background is saved as a PNG.

Can I have the layered PSD file?

I can provide you with a PSD file of the cover, but you are only allowed to use the included images as part of the cover composition. If you would like to use them separately or on other graphics, you will need to buy a license from the stock photo website.

Who gets the cover copyright?

After the final payment is settled, the author becomes the owner of the cover and has no restrictions on its use. However, the author’s ownership does not include the license to use any original stock photos apart from the cover design.

What size is the eBook cover?

The standard dimensions are Amazon’s recommended 1563 x 2500; however, it’s not  a problem to adjust the cover to different dimensions if requested by the author.

What size is the print cover?

The trim size depends on the author’s preferences. The final dimensions and resolution of the cover are made according to the guidelines of the selected publisher.

Do you sell a pre-made cover again once it has been purchased?

No, pre-made covers can be sold only once.

Is it possible to make some changes on pre-made covers?

Yes, of course. Depending on the type of changes there might be an additional fee which will be discussed with the author. The price of the pre-made cover includes the change of the author name and book title.

Are the images you use royalty free?

All images used in my covers are purchased from the reputable online photo bank/stock photo website DepositPhotos (http://depositphotos.com/). The use of the images on the ebook covers is not restricted, but there is a limitation of 500,000 printed copies. If necessary, it’s possible to buy an extended license to cover unlimited printed copies.

Can you do custom illustrations?

I collaborate with great illustrators for sci-fi and fantasy covers as well as children’s book covers. Due to the nature of these projects, the price is different from my standard pricing packages and has to be discussed with the author. You can contact me at domi@inspiredcoverdesigns.com with the details of your project.

How long does it take to get the final cover?

It usually takes about two weeks to finish a book cover. The completion time can vary depending on the number of revisions requested by the author.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept payments via Paypal. I will send you a PayPal invoice that includes the details of your purchase. If you don’t have a Paypal account, Paypal also allows you to pay securely with a credit or debit card.

Do you require a deposit?

I require a 50% deposit before I start to work on a new project. The remaining 50% is due when the cover is complete.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes. If you are  not satisfied with the concepts provided and don’t choose one for further revisions, I’ll fully refund your deposit. This is capped at 30-days from the date that the concepts are sent to you.
